Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) is a kind of overvoltage protection device with bidirectional voltage stabilizer and bidirectional negative resistance, similar to a varistor. It is used in various AC and DC power supply circuits to suppress transient overvoltage. When the surge impulse voltage of the protected circuit appears instantaneously, the bidirectional breakdown diode can quickly break down from the high resistance state to the low resistance state, shunt and clamp the surge voltage, so as to protect the components in the circuit from being damaged by the instantaneous surge impulse voltage.

Transient voltage suppressor features

The response speed is particularly fast (ps level); The surge resistance is worse than that of discharge tube and varistor. The 10/1000μs wave pulse power is from 400W to 30KW, and the peak pulse current is from 0.52A to 544A. The breakdown voltage has a series of values from 6.8V to 550V, which is convenient for a variety of different voltage circuits. Its packaging form has two categories: axial lead type and patch type.

Instantaneous voltage suppressor chip type: SMAJ (400W), SMBJ (600W), SMCJ (1.5kW), SMDJ (3kW) series, axial guide type: P4KE (400W), SA (500W), P6KE (600W), 1.5KE(1.5kW), 3KP (3kW), 5KP (5kW), 15KPA (15kW), 20KPA (20kW), 30KPA (30kW) series and low capacitance SAC (500W, 50 pF), LCE (1.5kW, 100pF) series. In addition, there are BZW04 (400W) series glass passivated junction TVS tubes.
